About

EDYAC promotes personal wellness and is passionate in its belief that the health of the community and the health of the individual are interrelated. EDYAC constantly monitors the health care needs of the community by participating in a variety of community events as well making use of our community based volunteers.

At these events, our volunteers engage the general public in conversation and are able to understand what their general needs and concerns are. In addition, our volunteers constantly monitor health care trends and use that information to develop new programs and services.

OUR STORY

Through many different situations Dr. Isaac Osire was lead to start this organization because of a passion he has to make a difference for those who have physical, mental, and or emotional disabilities from birth or through life experiences.

Dr. Isaac was in Northern Uganda working with some friends to help a client set up a fish farm. While there he noticed a woman going in and out of her hut with both her mouth and nose closed. And he felt that he needed to check on this. He went to her and asked what was inside; there was the woman’s pathetic, malnourished, smelling, sick granddaughter. She had stolen some small money from her step mother and so the woman had burned the girl by making her sit on the hot coal fire. This caused all her buttocks to be burnt and part of her back. After this cruel event, the girl was then locked up in the house for days until one day when the grand-mother of the girl showed up to pay a visit to her grand daughter who is a daughter of her daughter. The girl had not been treated and so her skin was rotting on her buttocks and her back. The step mother run off but this old lady took up her daughter home to where Dr Isaac found her.

Dr. Isaac was disturbed by this and cried out to God. During his frustration with understanding, he felt a still and peaceful voice of the Lord God speak to him, “You can be the solution!”. From that point Dr. Isaac started finding ways to help these youths & children with disabilities.
