Medical Camps

Doctors who come to the community

We carry out camps in Eastern Uganda, the surrounding regions and other East African countries. A team of doctors reviews every client who comes.

Camps are often the first time a family meets EDYAC — and the first step towards treatment for a child who has never seen a specialist.

Surgical Camps

Surgery for the cases camps cannot handle

Surgical camps are carried out two to three weeks after the medical camps, to handle the cases that the medical camps could not.

Children also reach specialist hospitals for orthopaedic, neurological, heart and other surgery — with EDYAC helping families with the journey.

Healing House

Where recovery is protected

Our facility for wound management and rehabilitation. Children who have had surgery and are not recovering well in the community stay here for a limited time, so they do not relapse, before going back home.

  • Nursing of wounds and sores
  • A clean, hygienic environment for healing
  • Healthy meals to boost immunity
  • Counselling for children and their parents or guardians

Child Care

Access to care for every child

We reach children and youth who are not in a position to access health care, and give them access to medical services.

That includes mobility aids — crutches, walkers, standing frames and CP chairs — that let a child sit, stand and take part in family life.
